 Chapter 47-1: Seen Before

The girl in the blue clothes appeared to be around fourteen or fifteen years old. Judging from her words and demeanor, Luo Sheng speculated that she must be Luo Siguniang, Luo Yue.

The Luo Family had four Misses: Luo Ying - Daguniang[1], Luo Qing - Erguniang, and Luo Yue - Siguniang. All of them were born to concubines, while Luo Sheng was the only legitimate daughter.

Before Luo Sheng could respond, Hongdou burst forth with an astonishing aura. Her delicate eyebrows turned upside down as she sneered, "While the cat's away, the mice will play, huh? My Miss has been gone for just a few days, and you dare to scowl at her so boldly. Siguniang, aren't you too arrogant?"

Luo Yue's pretty face flushed red, and she instinctively wanted to avoid Luo Sheng's composed gaze. However, she finally refused to back down and retorted, "I'm not afraid of you. Do you think things are the same as they were before?"

"Simei[2], don't cause trouble," two young girls rushed over and, one on each side, tugged at Luo Yue's arm.

Among the two newcomers, a tall and slender girl dressed in purple looked anxious as she smiled apologetically at Luo Sheng, "Sanmei, Simei is troubled by Father's condition. Please don't mind her words."

The other girl, delicately dressed in green, spoke softly to Luo Yue, "Simei, apologize to Sanmei."

Luo Sheng pursed her lips and remained silent. Since she was unfamiliar with the dynamics of the Luo Family, it was better to listen to what others had to say. For now, Luo Ying and Luo Qing seemed polite and courteous to her, but she could sense that they were sincerely protecting Luo Yue.

This wasn't surprising, as Hongdou had previously revealed that Miss Luo used to act like a tyrant in front of her sisters. Therefore, despite not being born by the same concubine, the three sisters were united and close to each other.

"Dajie, Erjie, why do you still speak humbly to her?" Luo Yue pointed at Luo Sheng, feeling agitated.

Perhaps it was the result of long-term oppression that led to a fierce outburst, and Luo Yue's emotions were now uncontrollable. Luo Ying and Luo Qing couldn't pull her away. They could only listen with trepidation as she vehemently scolded Luo Sheng.

Step by step, Luo Sheng approached Luo Yue, raising her hand. Subconsciously, Luo Yue took half a step back and blushed due to her reflexive timidity. Luo Ying hurriedly extended her hand to shield Luo Yue and said, "Sanmei, please calm down—."

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Luo Yue felt deeply ashamed, her ears turning red. Her anger at Luo Sheng had dissipated into thin air. The scene fell silent due to the impact of Luo Sheng's gentle words.

Luo Sheng waited patiently as Luo Yue hurriedly tidied up her clothes. Then, she spoke calmly, "Now, can you tell me why Father's assassination would have any connection to me?"
