To Hold One's Joy Chapter 51-2

 Chapter 51-2: A Joke

Seeing the two maids causing a commotion, Xiuyue, who silently trailed behind Luo Sheng, was dumbfounded. She thought that maids like Hongdou were already rare, yet there was another one like Kou'er...

Xiuyue discreetly glanced at Luo Sheng, her emotions tangled. From this perspective, Miss Luo was nothing like their Princess. Thinking of Shufeng, Chaohua, and Jiangxue – all of them were remarkable and skilled individuals, even the unremarkable her still had decent cooking skills.

Turning her gaze back to Miss Luo's first-rank maids – looking at the lively faces of the two young maids, Xiuyue's eyes dimmed. What was wrong with leading an ordinary life, as long as it was a happy one? Unlike Jiangxue and the others who were no longer alive.

In the third month, the garden at Luo Mansion was ablaze with blossoms, and the incessant chatter of the two young maids grew livelier. Strolling through this lively ambiance, Luo Sheng found herself involuntarily smiling. Reaching this point was already a considerable achievement, and she believes everything will get better from here on.

Under the brilliant sun, a cluster of peonies flourished by the roadside. Lifting her skirts, Luo Sheng strolled toward a courtyard nestled among flowers and trees.

Upon learning of Luo Sheng's return, the other three adopted sons of Commander Luo hurried over. Without any surprise, they were met with rejection at the door by Luo Sheng. This Godfather's cherished daughter had never held her foster brothers in high regard.

"Dage, did Sanmei really mention inviting Divine Doctor Li tomorrow?" A young man in a blue robe walked beside Pingli and inquired.

Pingli glanced at the young man and kindly reminded him, "Sidi[1], it would be better not to refer to her as Sanmei. Call her Sanguniang."

The young man furrowed his brows, questioning, "And why is that?"

"She doesn't like it," Pingli responded.

The young man hesitated as if contemplating a response but eventually chose to withhold his words. With a smile, he said, "Thank you for the advice, Dage. But Dage, why didn't you stop Sanguniang from visiting Divine Doctor Li?"

"Stop her?" Pingli's expression turned bemused, "Sidi, have you forgotten who Sanguniang is? She's Godfather's beloved daughter. How can I possibly stop her?"

"But Godfather's life is in danger—"

Pingli gently interrupted the young man's words: "That's precisely why we should take care of Sanguniang."

The young man fell silent for a moment, then nodded subtly. "Dage, you're right. Let Sanguniang do as she pleases." She was merely a young girl who continuously caused trouble. Attempting to stop her might only lead her to make more trouble. Dage had clearly thought it through.

The shock brought about by Luo Sheng's return to the Capital was not limited to the Luo Mansion.

The impact of Luo Sheng's return to the Capital extended beyond the confines of the Luo Mansion.

Imperial Doctor Wang, who had examined Commander Luo, returned to the Imperial Medical Office and slammed his medicine box onto the table, his anger evident in the quivering of his beard. "How preposterous! Utter arrogance and ignorance!"

"Why are you so upset?" a colleague inquired.

Imperial Doctor Wang huffed, his beard fluttering, but he said nothing.

His colleagues grew even more intrigued. "You've just returned from Commander Luo's mansion, haven't you? Did the people at the Luo Mansion give you a hard time?"

Commander Luo's grave injury and subsequent coma had captured the attention of the entire Capital, with Imperial Doctors being intimately involved. Every Imperial Doctor present had visited the Luo Mansion at some point. Given that Commander Luo's condition had not shown any improvement, it wasn't surprising that Imperial Doctor Wang might have faced trouble in Luo Mansion due to this unfortunate circumstance.

"The legitimate daughter of Commander Luo has returned to the Capital." Imperial Doctor Wang abruptly said.

All the Imperial Doctors were taken aback. "What? The Miss Luo who dared to tease Kaiyang Wang in the street?" While most of them hadn't met this Miss Luo in person, her reputation was widespread.

Imperial Doctor Wang nodded angrily: "Yes, that Miss Luo! This girl even declared that she would personally invite Divine Doctor Li tomorrow. Attempting to use power to coerce Divine Doctor Li into treating Commander Luo!"

"Using power to coerce Divine Doctor Li? Outrageous!" An Imperial Doctor exclaimed in anger.

Another Imperial Doctor echoed, equally incensed. "It's preposterous!"

"Absolutely shameless!" All the Imperial Doctors were furious.

As the Imperial Doctors left Imperial Doctor Office, the joke that Miss Luo wanted to use power to force Divine Doctor Li to treat her father began circulating quickly.

THOJ Chapter 1

TO HOLD'S ONE JOY  Chapter 1: Devil Incarnate Luo Sheng gazed at the engraved silver incense ball beneath the emerald green curtain. Her eyes, which before had been full of vigor, seemed a little dull now, and the chattering of the little maid in her ears became louder as a result. "Miss, isn't it just a Su Er Gongzi [1] ? If you like him, you could capture him directly, but hanging yourself for him is not worth it, hu hu hu..." Luo Sheng shifted her gaze to the little maid who was crying at the bedside. This little maid's name is Hongdou (red bean), and she can speak and cry at the same time. It's been three days since she heard Hongdou's chatters, and she's gained a general understanding of her situation. Her present body, Luo Sheng, is the daughter of the powerful Commander Luo, the chief commander of Jinlin Guards. She was sent to her maternal ancestral home in Jinsha County, the Sheng family's mansion, where she currently resides, after getti

Chapter 64: Kaiyang Wang's Greetings Luo Sheng returned to the Luo Mansion and went straight to her room, never stepping outside again. Si Nan had been freed, but it left her feeling burdened. After all, her heart wasn't made of iron. Pingli was furious upon learning that Luo Sheng had killed Si Nan. "Didn't Fifth Brother accompany Third Miss? Why did you allow her to lay her hands on the criminal?" he demanded of Yundong. "Third Miss said that she wanted to speak privately with Si Nan... I'm sorry, Eldest Brother, I didn't anticipate that Third Miss would take such action," Yundong apologized, though his heart harbored no remorse. The man was killed in Jinlin Guards Prison, so the news would remain suppressed unless Pingli chose to disclose it. Pingli might have considered leaking the information if Godfather had not regained consciousness. However, now that Godfather was awake, he didn't think Pingli dared to do so. Pingli obviously also un

Chapter 57-1: Divine Doctor's Visit The echo of footsteps resonated as an elderly man emerged from behind the screen, causing Luo Sheng's eyelashes to quiver. In comparison to a decade ago, Divine Doctor Li had scarcely changed. His hair remained silver without a hint of other colors, and his eyes shone with more vitality than those of young people. Time seems to have forgotten this old man, leaving his unaltered appearance to evoke a sense of familiarity in Luo Sheng. However, the same couldn't be said for Divine Doctor Li. He stared at the unfamiliar young girl before him with a grim expression and addressed her sternly, "Where's the Yangyuan Pill?" Luo Sheng handed him a small box. Upon opening it and seeing the pills inside, Divine Doctor Li's eyes shrank. He brought the box close to his nose, took a sniff, and his expression soured. "Where did you get this pill?" he asked. Luo Sheng blinked. Her bright eyes showed surprise. "Yo
