To Hold One's Joy Chapter 15-2

Chapter 15-2: Fell Ill

The two siblings were left alone in the room, gazing at each other. Luo Sheng didn't want to waste time on speculation, so she cut to the chase and asked directly, "Xiaodi, do you have something to say to me?" Luo Chen leaned against the screen, remaining silent.

Luo Sheng stopped urging and patiently waited for him to speak. After an unknown amount of time, Luo Chen unexpectedly asked, "Do you know how to swim?"

Luo Sheng raised her eyebrows in surprise. Luo Chen's question is somewhat interesting. Luo Chen took a step closer, his eyes filled with curiosity. "When I was about to drown in the lake back then, you pushed me towards Hongdou, and no one came to your aid. Yet, you were safe and sound..."

Quietly listening to Luo Chen pointing out the inconsistencies, Luo Sheng couldn't help but smile. Miss Luo's younger brother was indeed clever, and what impressed her even more, was that he could keep his composure in the face of Sheng Laotaitai and others. It was worth noting that he was only thirteen years old.

"What are you smiling for?" "I'm happy." hen faced with her brother's confused gaze, she continued, "I'm glad that my brother has chosen to stand by my side."

Luo Chen's expression darkened: "I just don't want to complicate things. I witnessed Sheng Jialan pushing you into the lake with my own eyes. Regardless of whether you can swim or not, it doesn't change the fact that she did harm you. If I speak too much about it, it might influence Waizumu and others' opinions."

Luo Sheng blinked: "In that case, why are you angry?" Luo Chen was stunned by the question and froze for a while before impatiently saying: "Why did you pretend to drown if you know how to swim? Are you not afraid that you might really drown?"

How can someone make light of their safety? Luo Sheng really doesn't have the attitude of a daughter from a prestigious family. The more Luo Chen thought about it, the angrier he became, especially when he recalled his act of jumping into the lake to save her. He felt stupid.

"Alright, I know you're concerned about me. Rest well, and I'll visit you again tomorrow," Luo Sheng said, patting Luo Chen's head before leaving the room. Luo Chen: "..." She patted his head again[1]!

"Fusong—" Luo Chen called out. The servant whom Hongdou disliked came running in: "What are your orders, young master?" With a stern expression, Luo Chen said, "If my sister returns tomorrow, take a broom and sweep her out of here for me!"

Fusong obediently responded, but his heart raced with worry. Young master just scolded him for making decisions on his own, and now young master seemed to have changed his mind. Tomorrow if he really sweeps Miss Luo out, maybe young master will kick him out too. Forget it. Let's leave tomorrow's troubles for tomorrow.

Over the course of a night, a significant change occurred within the Sheng Mansion: Sheng Erguniang had disappeared. A rumor began circulating among the servants, who were unaware of the actual circumstances. According to the rumor, Miss Luo was not satisfied with merely pushing Erguniang into the lake. She threatened to report the incident to Commander Luo. To avoid this, Sheng Laotaitai had no choice but to send Sheng Erguniang away.

Tsk tsk, how could someone be so unreasonable? Miss Luo caused a problem in the capital. She was sent to her maternal family's house to avoid the limelight. However, she still didn't know how to restrain herself and forced Erguniang away.

Hongdou entered the room with her sleeves rolled up, lifting her head to take a sip of herbal tea to relieve her anger. "What's going on?" "Miss, you have no idea how badly those servants slander you. This maid ended up fighting with the senior maid guarding the second gate." Having said this, Hongdou sheepishly looked at Luo Sheng, unsure how she would react. Miss seemed different now. Would she be angry with her?

"Did you win the fight?" Luo Sheng asked, causing Hongdou to forget her guilt momentarily and proudly pat her chest. "Of course!"

Luo Sheng nodded slightly: "Then that's good. How is my brother's condition?" The mention of Luo Chen made Hongdou frown: "This maid has inquired. Young master developed a fever during the night. The doctor is still attending to him until now."

THOJ Chapter 1

TO HOLD'S ONE JOY  Chapter 1: Devil Incarnate Luo Sheng gazed at the engraved silver incense ball beneath the emerald green curtain. Her eyes, which before had been full of vigor, seemed a little dull now, and the chattering of the little maid in her ears became louder as a result. "Miss, isn't it just a Su Er Gongzi [1] ? If you like him, you could capture him directly, but hanging yourself for him is not worth it, hu hu hu..." Luo Sheng shifted her gaze to the little maid who was crying at the bedside. This little maid's name is Hongdou (red bean), and she can speak and cry at the same time. It's been three days since she heard Hongdou's chatters, and she's gained a general understanding of her situation. Her present body, Luo Sheng, is the daughter of the powerful Commander Luo, the chief commander of Jinlin Guards. She was sent to her maternal ancestral home in Jinsha County, the Sheng family's mansion, where she currently resides, after getti

Chapter 64: Kaiyang Wang's Greetings Luo Sheng returned to the Luo Mansion and went straight to her room, never stepping outside again. Si Nan had been freed, but it left her feeling burdened. After all, her heart wasn't made of iron. Pingli was furious upon learning that Luo Sheng had killed Si Nan. "Didn't Fifth Brother accompany Third Miss? Why did you allow her to lay her hands on the criminal?" he demanded of Yundong. "Third Miss said that she wanted to speak privately with Si Nan... I'm sorry, Eldest Brother, I didn't anticipate that Third Miss would take such action," Yundong apologized, though his heart harbored no remorse. The man was killed in Jinlin Guards Prison, so the news would remain suppressed unless Pingli chose to disclose it. Pingli might have considered leaking the information if Godfather had not regained consciousness. However, now that Godfather was awake, he didn't think Pingli dared to do so. Pingli obviously also un

Chapter 57-1: Divine Doctor's Visit The echo of footsteps resonated as an elderly man emerged from behind the screen, causing Luo Sheng's eyelashes to quiver. In comparison to a decade ago, Divine Doctor Li had scarcely changed. His hair remained silver without a hint of other colors, and his eyes shone with more vitality than those of young people. Time seems to have forgotten this old man, leaving his unaltered appearance to evoke a sense of familiarity in Luo Sheng. However, the same couldn't be said for Divine Doctor Li. He stared at the unfamiliar young girl before him with a grim expression and addressed her sternly, "Where's the Yangyuan Pill?" Luo Sheng handed him a small box. Upon opening it and seeing the pills inside, Divine Doctor Li's eyes shrank. He brought the box close to his nose, took a sniff, and his expression soured. "Where did you get this pill?" he asked. Luo Sheng blinked. Her bright eyes showed surprise. "Yo
