 Chapter 17-1: Medicine

Although Sheng Jiayu couldn't comprehend Hongdou's expression, her words annoyed her. She retorted, "Who wants to accompany your Miss? Don't talk nonsense!" Hongdou rolled her eyes and shot back, "No need to lie. Why else would you be following us?"

Did she think Miss would share the handsome man with her if they happened to encounter one? What a daydream. Fueled by her anger, Sheng Jiayu decided to tell the truth.: "I followed you because I was worried that Luo Sheng would get into trouble again."

Luo Sheng finally opened her mouth, her tone was cold: "If I were to get into trouble, do you believe you could prevent it?" Thinking she had caught onto Luo Sheng's scheme, Sheng Jiayu sneered and remarked, "You were buying random medicine for Biaodi, right? Are you trying to harm him?" Luo Sheng furrowed her brow and gazed at Sheng Jiayu momentarily before letting out a soft sigh.

"What's with that expression?" Sheng Jiayu inquired. Luo Sheng smiled: "My father once told me that the Sheng family is a scholarly family." When Hongdou heard these words, her excitement grew. Governor Luo had mentioned this several times, particularly when he sent Miss away from the capital. He emphasized that Miss should not be self-willed again once she arrives in a scholarly family like the Sheng family.

Dear heaven! The little maid was ecstatic that Luo Sheng remembered something from her past. She eagerly tugged at Luo Sheng's sleeve, causing Luo Sheng to helplessly twitch the corner of her mouth. Su Yao froze for a moment, then looked at Sheng Jiayu. Sheng Jiayu caught on and greeted Su Yao, "Su Erge."

Su Yao spoke softly, "Are you fighting with Miss Luo?" Sheng Jiayu replied vaguely, "It's just a minor disagreement, not a fight."

"Why did you two bicker?" Sheng Jiayu was taken aback by Su Yao's persistence in pursuing the details of the dispute between her and Luo Sheng but decided to explain.
